Notice to Candidates Running for Office in November, 2012
The Westerly Republican Town Committee invites anyone considering running for Westerly Town Council, Westerly School Committee or RI State Legislature in the November, 2012 election to attend one of their upcoming monthly meetings. Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. at Dylan's Restaurant, Canal Street, Westerly. The next meeting will be held on May 9. Candidates for office must be 18 years of age or older and must be registered to vote in the town of Westerly. If you are not registered to vote, the deadline to register to vote to be eligible to run for office is Friday, May 25. To register, you must complete a Declaration of Candidacy form available at the Westerly Board of Canvassers located at the Westerly Town Hall on High Street in Westerly. If you are already registered to vote, you must complete and file a Declaration of Candidacy form on June 25, 26 or 27. Forms and information is available at the Westerly Board of Canvassers at the Town Hall on High Street or on the RI Secretary of State's website at www.sos.ri.gov/elections/.
